Focus on Building Muscle

This article is worth the read if you want to understand why we concentrate on strength training at Quantify Fitness before worrying about cardio. Want to improve your body composition? Put on some muscle and quit spending all your time on the treadmill!

In the years after their “Biggest Loser” triumphs, nearly all contestants on the TV show regain the weight they fought so hard to lose, and their metabolisms end up slower than when they started.

Consider the signals those Biggest Loser weight loss methods send your body: I have to work really hard (chronic cardio) + I'm going to need to starve myself and not eat much (caloric restriction) = so I better slow down my metabolism and store some energy, aka fat.

It really doesn't have to be that hard. There's no reason a once a week workout on the most effective strength training equipment around, along with a healthy lifestyle can't have you looking and feeling great!
